About Our Chesterfield Care Home
Elm Lodge provides residential care for people with dementia either long-term or on respite. We appreciate the stress associated with leaving home to live in a new location and we are happy to accept new Service Users for an agreed trial period at the end of which there would be no further obligation
Facilities
Elm Lodge has a secure rear garden, which over looks allotments and views of Tapton. Our Service Users can sit out and enjoy the sunshine whilst observing people in their allotments or even join in the fun of planting new flowers. The gardens are very popular with both our Service Users and their families. An experienced hairdresser visits Elm Lodge on a weekly basis as well as a chiropodist on a fortnightly basis, giving a sense of well-being to our Service Users.
Dining Areas
We have two dining areas, one on each floor where we provide fresh traditional English cooking and home baking. The kitchen staff provide an array of culinary delights. All special dietary needs are catered for. The menus provide a wide and varied nutritional choice suiting a broad range of tastes and cultural needs. Meals are appetizing, balanced and nutritious with an avenue for alternative choices. Light refreshments and snacks are available throughout the day and even the night, should anyone fancy a midnight snack.
Bedrooms
Elm Lodge is a forty six bedded, two-storey Care Home. Nine bedrooms have en-suite facilities. All rooms will be clearly signed to encourage independence and to relate to individual Service Users’ needs. Our Service Users are able to socialise or spend their time peacefully in their own room. Each of the bedrooms is centrally heated and double-glazed. Every room has a lockable main door as well as a lockable drawer in the bedside table for personal effects or valuables.
Our Service Users are encouraged to personalise their rooms, providing a more homely atmosphere for the individual, where they can entertain their family and friends, or spend time in their own company. Rooms can be decorated to our Service Users’ own choice. All rooms are fully furnished. However, Service Users can bring in their own furniture if they wish. Television aerial points are fitted in all the rooms so that Service Users can bring in a television and watch the programmes of their choice.
Lounges
At Elm Lodge there are four lounges, two on each floor, where Service Users can socialise. They can chat amongst themselves or with the staff, or take part in the activities/entertainment, read, watch television or listen to music. All the lounges have lovely comfy chairs, footstools and tables.
Housekeeping
Elm Lodge has excellent housekeeping staff who take pride in their work, ensuring that the Home is always clean and fresh. The Home provides a laundry service, where we ask families for their assistance in naming clothing to ensure that laundered items are returned washed and pressed immaculately, allowing our Service Users to take pride in their appearance.
